Production monitoring and ANDOM
NOVUS uses composite remote PLC boxes, Fieldloggers or Digirails that monitor several variables related to the production lines of auto part and automotive industries. This system informs all relevant parties when production has stopped, provides reasons why as well as other useful information such as the number of parts produced to date. Additionally, commands can be sent from the PCP or production supervisor to the field device ensuring that the operator knows which production order should be initiated and the desired quantity of pieces. The main benefits achieved by this type of monitoring are:
• Increased productivity resulting from constant control of production stoppages and parts produced;
• Reduction in machine stoppage time due to statistical analysis and improvement actions;
• Cooperation and empowerment of the entire production team to meet production targets which can be displayed in a way to be visible from the factory floor.

Temperature control in furnaces for automotive glass
The glass used in the automobile industry is curved in special furnaces using several different temperature profiles. A bank of 90 different resistances is required to actuate the changes in temperature. A PLC is the only way to automate this kind of behavior, with a supervisor to determine recipes and input control values. The benefits are:

Utilities monitoring in the automotive industry
NOVUS uses FieldLoggers or PLCs connected to pressure and temperature transmitters that monitor water cooling units, air compressors and generators that provide responsible for the utilities required in the production of automobiles and auto parts. Our participation in these projects is aimed at developing the software that monitors these utilities. This type of monitoring produces the following benefits:
